Weren't we lucky?
We thought we would have to cancel this year since the Bristol Natural History Consortium could not support us with kit and volunteers. Fortunately the RSPB stepped in (thanks Charly) so we went ahead as usual.
Also the weather came right. Rain stopped at 8am and dried out by 11am, then started again at 3pm!
Not so many attended as last year, but that's understandable given Saturday's gales and the dull start to Sunday. We still had to hang onto things because of occasional strong gusts. A lot of pond dipping, insect sweeping, badge making and art work was done. A new addition to activities, thanks to Andrea and Tim, was an bug hotel which everyone filled with straw etc and is now installed near the pond.
